To provide a silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material excellent in image quality and free of density variation irrespectively of humidity variation during heat development, and an image forming method.
The silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material has a photosensitive layer containing an organic silver salt, silver halide grains, a binder and a reducing agent and a non-photosensitive layer on one and the same surface of a support, and has a total dry film thickness of the photosensitive layer and the non-photosensitive layer being 10-20 μm, wherein, at the time of temperature up to 50-125°C using a scanning thermal microscope with a thermal probe, the degree of indentation to the photosensitive layer by the thermal probe is 0.50-1.00 μm.
