Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the oxidative deterioration of the separation membrane of a spiral membrane element.
CONSTITUTION: A spacer 3A composed of a fibrous activated carbon is used as the raw water spacer of an element. Since the activated carbon is present in a raw water passage, an oxidizing agent such as Cl2 in inflow raw water is removed by the activated carbon and the oxidative deterioration of a separation membrane is certainly prevented.
