To provide a split type scrap chopper that can minimize polishing repair or dispense with it depending on circumstances and minimize time and effort required for mounting to a machine.
This scrap chopper 1 detachably mounted into a recess formed on the outer peripheral surface by notching is provided with a knife 2 and a holder 3 of almost the same height abutting on each other at the facing back faces. The surface on the opposite side to the back face of the knife is formed with a first cutting edge part face 10 on one end side in the height direction, and a second cutting edge part face 11 on the other end side. The knife and the holder are detachably fixed by a fastening member 4 so that when either one of the first cutting edge part face and the second cutting edge part face is worn out, the other is usable.
