To provide a steering locking device for preventing illegal unlocking by constituting it in such a way that a rotor runs idle with the exception of a legal key.
A cutout groove 6a is formed at the outside center part of a tumbler 6. A tapered shoulder part 1e is formed at the nearly center part of the inside of a cylinder 1f, and a part above the shoulder part 1e is made a large diameter part 1h. The side face of a rotor 2 is provided with a longitudinal slit 2c in correspondence with the cutout groove 6a of the tumbler 6. A side bar 3 of plate shape having an inclined face 3a at the outside center part so as to correspond to the shoulder part 1e of the inner surface of the cylinder 1f is charged in the slit 2c so as to be radially advancing/retreating energized outward by upper and lower springs 12, 12. When a key is inserted in a key hole 2f of the rotor 2 and pressed, the cutout grooves 6a of all the tumblers 6 are aligned, and the side bar 3 is moved inward into the slit 2c and fitted into the cutout grooves 6a of the tumblers 6 so as to push the rotor 2 into the bottom of the cylinder if, thus actuating a connection part for actuating a lock bar.
