This device comprises a picture image recording means 4, an engine operation detection means 15, a timer means 16 that operates for a predetermined duration by an engine stop signal (a) from the engine operation detection means 15. The device further comprises an operating means 14 which generates an ON signal by an engine start signal (b) from the engine operation detection means 15, and an OFF signal by an operation stop signal (c) from the timer means 16. By this configuration, the operation of the picture image recording means 4 is controlled by the ON and OFF signals from the operating means 14.
