To solve such a problem that the wear rate of a track around a magnetic gap is high and the life of a head is extremely short since reinforcing glasses in track control grooves are low-melting glasses with the high wear rate in a conventional technology, as to the magnetic head for recording or reproducing with respect to a magnetic recording medium.
The structure and the manufacturing method of this magnetic head is constituted in such a manner that the reinforcing glasses to be filled in the track control grooves are prepared only around the gaps in the magnetic head having a track groove for forming a track part including a glass reinforcing groove and the track control grooves, and the track control grooves located other than around the gaps are void or glasses having a melting point lower than that of the reinforcing glasses are filled therein, then the magnetic head with the structure having the satisfied interface with the magnetic tape is obtained while a dust, etc., at the recording/reproducing operation are efficiently discharged.
