PURPOSE: To enhance rigidity and prevent the generation of a curl at the time of heating by providing a uniaxially stretched film containing a specific inorg. fine powder on the surface of a biaxially stretched film containing a specific scaly inorg. fine powder and providing a uniaxially stretched film containing a specific scaly inorg. fine powder to the rear thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic resin containing 5-65wt.% of a scaly inorg. fine powder with an aspect ratio of 10 or less such as talc, mica or a mixture of talc and mica is extruded into a sheet form from a die and the extrudate is longitudinally stretched to form a uniaxially stretched base material layer. A thermoplastic resin containing 8-80wt.% of an inorg. fine powder (excepting flaky matter) is laminated to the surface of the base material layer in a molten state and a thermoplastic resin containing 8-80wt.% of a scaly inorg. fine powder with an aspect ratio of 10 or more such as talc or mica is laminated to the rear thereof in a molten state. Next, this multilayered sheet is stretched and heat-treated in orthogonal directions to obtain a support for a thermal transfer recording receiving sheet wherein a surface layer 1 and a rear layer 3 are respectively provided to the upper and lower surfaces of the base material layer 2.
