Abstract:
To properly set a target subject area which enables highly accurate target detection.SOLUTION: A surroundings monitoring device comprises: a marine chart data storage unit which stores marine chart data; a captured video input unit which accepts a video captured by a camera as input thereto; an area setting unit which sets a detection subject area on the basis of the marine chart data; a target information acquisition unit which acquires target information pertaining to a target detected in the detection subject area; and a synthesized video generation unit which generates a synthesized video in which the target information is synthesized with the position of a captured video that corresponds to the position at which the target is detected. The target information acquisition unit acquires target information of the target detected by performing image recognition on the detection subject area. A boundary for partitioning between an inner side and an outer side of the detection subject area where the image recognition is performed is expressed by a closed polygonal line diagram. The area setting unit stores position information of a plurality of apexes of the polygonal line diagram.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
