Abstract:

To control the temperature of a recording medium independently of the temperature of a reader/writer.

This temperature control device includes: an installation stand on the upper face of which a recording medium is installed; a cover member for, when the recording medium is installed on the installation stand, forming a first tank with the upper face of the recording medium; a feed pipe connected to the cover member; and a blower for sending gas through the feed pipe to the first tank. Furthermore, the temperature control device includes a temperature sensor which measures the temperature of the recording medium installed on the installation stand or the temperature of the neighborhood of the recording medium, and the blower is configured to start or stop the feed of gas to the first tank based on the temperature measured by the temperature sensor.
