Abstract:

PURPOSE: To quantitatively measure and compute tension distribution in the width direction of a running sheet-shaped object.

CONSTITUTION: The speed of a running sheet-shaped object 1 is measured substantially at the same time at an upstream side measuring point A and a downstream side measuring point B in the running direction of the sheet-shaped object. Measurement is made a plurality of points in the width direction of the sheet-shaped object, and from a ratio of the speed of the upstream side measuring point to that of the downstream side measuring point, tension of the sheet-shaped object 1 at the plurality of points is computed.
