Abstract:

NEW MATERIAL:A tetrahydrofuranylpyrimidine derivative of formula I (R1 is H, alkyl, aralkyl, aryl; R2 is alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, polyhydroxyalkyl; R3, R4 are identical or different and alkyl, aralkyl, aryl).

EXAMPLE: 2,4-Diamino-6-hydroxy-5-[47-(3'-hydroxy-2,5'-dimethoxy-2'- methyltetrahydrofuranyl)]pyrimidine.

USE: It is used as a synthetic intermediate of BH4, a medicine: 5,6,7,8tetrahydro-L- erythro-biopterin and its analogues. It can he simply and efficiently synthesized at inexpensive costs.

PREPARATION: As shown in the reaction equations, the epoxide group in epoxy- tetrahydrofuran of formula II is cleaved with a compound of formula III to give the compound of formula I.
