To provide a thrust roller bearing which can support a rotary portion with a high rated capacity and a stable bearing performance under an environment with high temperature and high pressure.
The bearing comprises an annular retainer 12 including a pocket train formed in radial direction plural rows, and a plurality of rollers 18, 20 which are housed one by one in each of pockets 14, 16 of each train, respectively. The retainer 12 comprises pillar portions 28, 30 dividing each pocket of each train in circumferential direction. Each pillar portion of each train has a pillar profile in which an inner diameter side and an outer diameter side of the pillar portion are located at one side and the other side in axial direction with respect to a roller PCD, respectively, and both pillar ends are connected with a pillar connection bar extending on a diagonal line located slantingly in the axial direction, and includes a roller stopper preventing the roller from falling out by projecting inside the pocket in both pillar ends, respectively. An outer diameter side inner surface of each pocket of the each train becomes flat in plane in the circumferential direction.
