Title:
TILTING TYPE POURING LADLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2803949
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the sticking and the piling of foreign material to the inner surface of a ladle body by arranging multiple floating balls made of heat resistant material for covering molten metal surface while floating.
CONSTITUTION: In a tilting type pouring ladle, a weir plate 2 for preventing the tap-off of the foreign material of scale, slag, etc., together with the molten metal 10 is arranged in the ladle body 1 freely tiltably supported. Then, the multiple floating balls 5 formed of the heat resistant material for covering the molten metal surface by floating on the received molten metal 10 are arranged in the ladle body 1. The floating ball 5 is formed of the heat resistant material which is not reacted with the molten metal and has the density smaller than that of the molten metal. For example, ceramic of Al2O3, ZrO2, Si3N3, etc., graphite, refractory brick material, etc., is used and the spherical shape is desirable. By this method, the repair of the ladle is facilitated and the service life thereof can be extended.
