Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject crystal giving a photosensitizer for an electrophotography of high quality of image in high sensitivity especially for near infrared radiation such as semiconductor laser beam.

CONSTITUTION: This crystal is expressed by the formula (X1-X4 are each C1 or Br; (m), (n), (l) and (k) are each 0-4) and has clear diffraction peaks at Bragg angles (2θ±0.2°) of 7.22°, 9.60°, 11.60°, 13.40°, 14.88°, 18.34°, 23.62°, 24.14° and 27.32°, and the diffraction peak at the Bragg angle of 9.60° is the largest peak in a X-ray diffraction spectrum. The crystal is obtained by mechanically dispersing and pulverizing amorphous titaniloxyphthalocyanine into an aqueous solution of an ionic material at ≤50°C, adding a nonpolar organic solvent, extracting under stirring and removing the solvent.
