PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of recessed parts in clad beads and the generation of cracks in the clad beads by surely supplying powder to a lap part which is the final position of build-up welding.

CONSTITUTION: A base metal 1 is disposed by setting the lower part of a slope 3 at a horizontal plane and build-up welding is started from above the slope 3 of a position offset from the lowermost end 4 of the slope 3 in the build-up welding method of build-up welding the powder 7 on the surface of the base metal 1 continuously formed with the slope 3 in an annular form.
