Abstract:
PURPOSE: The titled composition, prepared by incorporating an aqueous emulsion of vinyl acetate polymer with PVA, a solution of a specific isocyanate compound in a hydrophobic solvent and a formalin condensate resin, and having improved water resistance and bonding strength.
CONSTITUTION: A composition prepared by incorporating an aqueous emulsion of vinyl acetate polymer, e.g. polyvinyl acetate emulsion, with (A) PVA (derivative), (B) a solution of a compound, e.g. tolylene diisocyanate, having isocyanate groups, and dissolved in a hydrophobic solvent, e.g. toluene, and (C) a formalin condensate resin, e.g. melamine-formalin copolymeric resin.
