Abstract:
To provide a toner separation device capable of more efficiently separating toner from a developer including toner and carrier, and an image forming apparatus equipped with the separating unit.
The toner separation device is equipped with electrode plates for reducing adsorptive power between toner and carrier in a surplus developer due to electrostatic charge before delivery of the surplus developer to a first cyclone unit 9. The electrostatically adsorbed toner and carrier, and toner particles can be swirled in the cyclone in a state of individually separated particles. Consequently, the toner separated from the carrier can be efficiently recovered and effectively reused.
