Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top emission type organic EL display device which can prevent an organic layer removed by laser light from scattering to a pixel region adequately and which can suppress the worsening of display characteristics.SOLUTION: A top emission type organic EL display device comprises: a substrate 2; pixel electrodes 3; an auxiliary electrode 4; an insulator layer 5 formed between the pixel electrodes 3, and having an opening to expose the auxiliary electrode 4; an organic EL layer 6 formed on the pixel electrodes 3 and including a plurality of organic layers; at least one organic layer formed on the auxiliary electrode 4; a contact part 9 which is an opening of the at least one organic layer; and a transparent electrode layer 7 formed on the organic EL layer and the contact part 9. Supposing that a distance by which the insulator layer 5 overlies the pixel electrode 3 between the contact part 9 and the pixel electrode 3 adjacent to the contact part 9 is "a", and a distance by which the insulator layer 5 overlies the auxiliary electrode 4 between the contact part 9 and the pixel electrode 3 adjacent to the contact part 9 is "b", at least one of the distances "a" and "b" is 2 μm or larger, and the distances satisfy: a
