PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque limiter for suppressing the slide of a rupture estimated portion between a ruptured phase on a first rotator side and a rupture phase on a second rotor side after the rupture of the rupture estimated portion.
SOLUTION: The torque limiter 15 has a flange portion 31 adapted to be connected to a rotor 12 on the side of an engine E and a connection portion 32 protruded on the flange portion 31 and adapted to be threadedly joined to an adapter 35 on the side of a compression mechanism P with predetermined fastening torque. Torque transmission between the rotor 12 and the adapter 35 is carried out in the fasting direction of the connection portion 32. Near a connection area between the flange portion 31 and the connection portion 32, the rupture estimated portion 34 is set which is ruptured when the transmission torque is in excess. An area on the flange portion 31 which may belong to the side of the rotor 12 after the rupture of the rupture estimated portion 34 is provided with a restriction plane 31a for restricting the threading movement of the connection portion 32 relative to the adapter 35 in the fastening direction with abutment on the adapter 35.
