To provide a tow hook for an automobile which dose not affect running of an automobile mounted with the tow hook on a public road and which does not damage other cars even in an unexpected contact accident in a racing circuit.

A tow hook is locked to a vehicle body by one end is put into the inside of the vehicle body through a through hole B1 provided in a bumper B and subsequently screwing the one end to an attachment portion R in the inside of the vehicle body. An annular connection 5 having a size allowing it to pass through the through hole provided in the bumper is provided in the other end of a tow hook body 1. An elastic tow strap 9 made of un-rigid material is inserted through and fixed to the annular connection.
