Abstract:
PURPOSE:To minimize friction resistance of a sliding support member for magnetic float type linear motor-driven vehicles and provide them with safe sliding by installing lubricating mesh members on the surfaces of backing plates. CONSTITUTION:A mesh member 3 and a lubricating mesh member 2 are provided on the surface of a back plate 6. The mesh member 3 consists of a flat-multiple woven textile where a single fiber made of systhetic resin having a low friction coefficient is used as a warp 3a and a welt 3b. The lubricating mesh member 2 is filled with alloy grains 4 having a low boiling point and with a lubricant 5 made of paraffin wax and a sulfide oil. When a vehicle starts gliding or drives at a low speed, a low friction resistance is maintained by the synthetic resin composed of the warp 3a having a small friction coefficient and the lubricant 5 having a well-lubricating quality provided by paraffin wax and sulfurized oil During intermediate speed up to high speed the grains 4 are melted with an increase in temperature and the friction resistance is further reduced. Therefore, the good conditions for vehicle gliding can be obtained.
