To obtain the subject new complex consisting of a triazenide compound obtained by reacting a triazene with a transition metal compound in the presence of a base, and useful as a catalyst for a hydrosilylation reaction of an addition of a Si-bonded hydrogen onto an aliphatic multiple bond.
This transition metal complex is expressed by the formula: M'X'aY'b [M' is Pt, Pd, Rh or Ru; X' is a group of the formula: ANNNR' [R' is a 1-12C hydrocarbon (except an aromatic hydrocarbon in which an aromatic group directly bonded with N), the formula: SiR6c(OR6)3-c [R6 is a 1-8C alkyl; (c) is 0, 1, 2, 3]; A is a group of formula I (R4 is a 1-12C hydrocarbon which may be substituted, a halogen, H, NH2, NO2, OH, OR6, COOH or the like; G is CH or N), formula II, formula III (Q is S, O or NH), formula IV or the like; Y is a halogen, P(C2H5)3, P(C6H5)3, H, pyridine or the like; (a) is 1-4 integer; (b) is 0, 1-6 integer]. The complex is obtained by reacting a triazene of the formula: ANNNHR' with a transition metal compound of the formula: M'Yd ((d) is 1-8 integer).
