Abstract:
To avoid or limit friction generated at a skirt part of a piston and/or a bearing of a rod as a result of an expansion difference between a crankshaft and a cylinder housing.SOLUTION: A transmission device 1 for an engine whose compression ratio is variable and/or whose exhaust amount is variable comprises: a combustion piston 2 capable of moving in a combustion cylinder 110 of an engine, and fixed to a transmission member 3 in a cylinder housing 100; a gear 5 engaged with a first rack of the transmission member 3, and transmitting a motion between the combustion piston 2 of the engine and a crankshaft 9; a connecting rod 6 engaged with the gear 5 at a first end part, and engaged with the crankshaft 9 at a second end part; and a control member 7 engaged with the gear 5, and fixed to a control piston 12. In the transmission device 1, the combustion piston 2 and the transmission member 3 are slidably connected to the cylinder housing 100 in a main direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
