Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmissive liquid crystal display device, capable of increasing the cooling efficiency of the polarizing plate and reducing the number of components.
SOLUTION: In the transmissive liquid crystal display device, equipped with a liquid crystal display panel 101 for displaying images, polarizing plate 102 provided on the light-emitting side of the liquid crystal panel 101, a transparent substrate 103 provided on the light-emitting side of the polarizing plate 102, a metal holding part 104 for hold a transparent substrate 103 and a color compositing prism 105 provided on the light-emitting side of the transparent substrate 104, the transparent substrate 103 has thermal conductivity of 1 W/m.k or higher and produces λ/2 phase delay. A substance 206, having thermal conductivity of 0.1 W/m.k or higher is filled between the metal holding part 104 and the transparent substrate 103.
