Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter, transmission system and method employing OFDM AND MC-CDMA in which high speed/high quality broadband radio access transmission is realized.
SOLUTION: The transmitter comprises an OFDM transmitting means and an MC-CDMA transmitting means using a plurality of channels of different transmission power wherein each slot of a low transmission power channel is transmitted using the OFDM transmitting means or the MC-CDMA transmitting means and each slot of a high transmission power channel is transmitted using the MC-CDMA transmitting means. More specifically, the modulation system or channel encoding rate of the OFDM transmitting means or the modulation system, channel encoding rate or spreading factor of the MC-CDMA transmitting means is altered adaptively based on the communication state of each receiver for each slot of the low transmission power channel. The communication state is the distance to the receiver, and/or the carrier power vs interference signal and noise power ratio CINR.
