To provide a two-dimensional optical beam deflector in which scanning speed is adjustable according to the frame rate per image and which beam deflector has an antishock characteristic, and to provide an image display using the optical beam deflector.

The two-dimensional optical beam deflector 100 includes a deflection element 10 which contains resin and deflects light L in one direction and a deflection element 50 which contains Si and deflects light L in other direction. The deflection element 10 includes a pair of terminal sections 13, 14 disposed to face each other, a deflecting section 11 disposed therebetween, and beam sections 16, 17 for connecting them. The deflection element 50 includes: a frame-like support section 52; a deflecting section 53 which is arranged within the frame and has a mirror section 63; arms 54, 55 and 56, 57 which are disposed on its both sides and have each one end connected to the support section 52; beam sections 58, 59 and 60, 61 for connecting the other ends of the arms 54, 55 and 56, 57 to the deflecting section 11. The deflecting sections 11, 53 each have the center of gravity located on the optical path of light L.
