Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-stroke cycle internal combustion engine which can attain little air-fuel mixture blow-by in a combustion chamber and low fuel consumption and high emission control performance.
SOLUTION: The cylinder 14 of an internal combustion engine 8 is inclined a little to the front side of a vehicle body from a straight posture. A high- pressure chamber 36 and communicating passages 38, 40 are disposed on the more forward side of the vehicle body than the cylinder 14, and the openings 39, 41 of the communicating passages 38, 40 to a combustion chamber 33 are positioned toward the combustion chamber from a scavenging part 35. A charge air control valve 43, which rotates in such a direction as it goes from a crank chamber 29 side to combustion chamber 33 side near the openings 39, 41 of the communicating passages 38, 41, is disposed adjacent to the openings 39, 41 of the communicating passages 38, 40, and an exhaust pipe passing through the exhaust passage 54 of the internal combustion engine 8 and an exhaust expansion chamber are disposed at the more backward position of the vehicle body than the cylinder 14.
