Abstract:

To provide use of a catalyst for degradation of a nitrile rubber by metathesis.

The new method for the degradation of the nitrile rubber by the metathesis uses a ruthenium- or osmium-based catalyst having both of a substituted or nonsubstituted imidazolidine ligand and a carbene ligand having a phosphonium group.
