Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the heading nutrient product which reduces energy ingestion by the use of a low calorie sweetener by replacing high calorie saccharides contained in food with fructosyl oligosaccharide having hydrocarbon units bonded by β-linkage.

CONSTITUTION: A low calorie nutrient product or beverage which reduces the total energy ingestion per day of human or animals by replacing part or the whole of high calorie saccharides contained in food or a nutrient product with at least one kind of fructosyl oligosaccharide having 3-8 hydrocarbon units bonded by β-linkage. Fructosyl oligosaccharide consists of one molecule of cane sugar and one molecule of glucose, and sophoro-fructose in which glucoside units are bonded by β-1,2 linkage can be used.
