Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the subject apparatus having a specific structure, designed to puff a farm product stock for tobacco following impregnating it with a puffing auxiliary, and having such advantages as low external release of such puffing auxiliary and reduced such auxiliary consumption, air contamination and energy consumption.
CONSTITUTION: An impregnation vessel 22 is fed with a puffing auxiliary, also being fed, via rotary valves 36, 41, 43, 45, with a stock such as a farm product in a continuous way. Thence, the contents in the vessel 22 is impregnated with carbon dioxide followed by continuously drawing out the contents via the above rotary valves and then expanding the carbon dioxide, thus puffing the farm product. The carbon dioxide circulating in the above apparatus is freed from contaminated air, etc., by a separating means 91; thus, the concentration of the carbon dioxide can be retained within such a range as not to decline in puffing efficiency, and the carbon dioxide is circulated into the impregnation vessel 22.
