To provide a valve stem seal 1, capable of sealing a section between a valve stem 4 of intake/exhaust valve of an internal combustion engine and a valve guide 3 for supporting the valve stem to move freely in the axial direction and preventing penetration and leakage from the valve guide 3, made of sintered metal.

This valve stem seal 1 is provided with a valve guide seal part 11 which is brought into close contact with an outer peripheral face of the cylindrical valve guide 3 that protrudes from a cylinder head 2 and a sealing lip 12, extended from a tip part of the valve guide seal part 11 and brought into close contact with an outer peripheral face of the valve stem 4 which is slidably inserted into the valve guide 3. A seating seal part 13, which is to be brought into close contact with the cylinder head 2, is formed in an end part, on a side opposite to the sealing lip 12 in the valve guide seal part 11.
