Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a high efficiency variable length code transmitter capable of simply designating effective code length of a variable length code having no regularity.
CONSTITUTION: An address table 2 receiving a 1st address signal (a) outputted from a picture signal processing section 1 outputs address data (b) designated by the signal (a) to a code table 3 and outputs an address data stored in an address next to the address designated by the signal (a) and the address data (b) to a subtractor 4. The subtractor 4 obtains a code length from two received address data and outputs to the picture signal processing section 1. The code table 3 outputs the code data (c) stored in an address designated by the 2nd address signal (b) to a code register 5. The code register 5 outputs data according to a transmission clock ck from the picture signal processing section. When number of clocks is equal to the code length, the one transmission of code is finished.
