To suppress deterioration of air-conditioning feeling of an occupant when switching between blowing modes for increasing the rate of the amount of blown air from a face blowing port.
The vehicle air conditioner is provided with an air blower 6 for blowing air into a cabin; the face blowing port 14 for blowing the blown air from the air blower 6 to an upper body side of the occupant in the cabin; a foot blowing port 15 for blowing the blown air from the air blower 6 to a lower body side of the occupant in the cabin; a blowing mode switching means for switching a plurality of blowing modes by switching the ratio of the amount of blown air blown from the face blowing port 14 and the foot blowing port 15; and a blower control means for controlling an amount of blown air by the air blower 6. When the ratio of the amount of blown air of the face blowing port 14 is increased by switching the blowing mode by the blowing mode switching means, the air blower control means reduces the amount of blown air of the air blower 6, and thereafter, the means performs gradual change control for gradually increasing the amount of blown air of the air blower 6 over a predetermined time such that it becomes an amount of blown air before the blowing mode is switched.
