Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of achieving compatibility between securement of pump life and protection of an inverter.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device comprises: an inverter 13 generating AC power for driving a motor 11 for vehicle power mounted on a vehicle 10; a pump 14 feeding a cooling medium to a cooling passage for cooling the inverter 13; a rotation speed sensor 21 detecting a rotational speed of the motor 11; a temperature obtaining means 23 for obtaining the temperature of the inverter 13; and a pump control means 3 for actuating the pump 14 irrespective of the temperature of the inverter 13 when the rotation speed detected by the rotation speed sensor 21 is equal to or lower than a predetermined rotation speed during the traveling of the vehicle 10 and for actuating or stopping the pump 14 on the basis of the temperature of the inverter 13 when the rotation speed is larger than the predetermined rotation speed.
