To provide a vibration control device for a vehicle, advantageously exhibiting vibration control effect by setting the natural frequency of an independent mass member to a higher frequency region than the natural frequency of a vibration member to be vibration-controlled while effectively securing the spring component of a rubber elastic body layer in the independent mass member.
In this vibration control device for a vehicle, while the rubber elastic body layer 34 and a housing 12 are coaxially disposed utilizing the thermal contraction of the rubber elastic body layer 34, a very small gap 42 equal to or less than 0.1 mm is formed between the radial opposite surfaces of the outer peripheral surface of the rubber elastic body layer 34 and the inner peripheral surface of the housing 12, whereby the natural frequency of the independent mass member 16 composed of a mass metal fitting 32 and the rubber elastic body layer 34 is set to a higher frequency region than the natural frequency of the vibrating member 18 to be vibration-controlled so that when the vibration is input, the mass metal fitting 32 is repeatedly abutted on the inner surfaces on both sides in the vibration direction of the housing 12 through the rubber elastic body layer 34.
