Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide water treatment equipment using filter sand that can perform efficient operation by preventing wasteful discharge or disposal of treated liquid during a backwash process.SOLUTION: Water treatment equipment comprises a cylindrical filtration tank 10 depositing and storing therein filter sand 11 removing contaminated water, and configured to purify the contaminated filter sand during a backwash process when the performance of the filter sand 11 drops. The filtration tank 10 is provided with a piping inserted thereinto on the upper side therein as a water path discharging backwash water used for purifying the filter sand 11 in the backwash process; a pipe opening part 50 with a pipe opening 51 opened upward; and space partition means 55 to partition an upper inner peripheral space 56 which surrounds the pipe opening part 50 at an upper end side inside the filtration tank 10, to restrict the amount of water passing therethrough.
