Abstract:
To provide a width press device and a slab width press method.SOLUTION: A width press device according to the present invention comprises a thermometer, a width press machine, and a width press control unit. The width press control unit comprises: a slab temperature measurement part which measures a slab surface temperature of a slab after heating furnace extraction by using the thermometer arranged on an inlet side of the width press machine; a width press load calculation part which calculates a width press load prediction value on the basis of the measured slab surface temperature; a width press determination part which determines propriety of the width press of the slab according to the calculated width press load prediction value; a contact length control part which controls a contact length to be variable by correcting the contact length between the slab and a width press mold of the width press machine by a slab feeding amount correction value; a strain rate control part which controls a strain rate in the time of width press by correcting a crank rate of the width press machine by the slab feeding amount correction value and reducing the crank rate; and a width press execution part which executes the width press of the slab on the basis of the width press load prediction value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
