Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a wire rope which is flexible, has a thin rope diameter, however, has high strength per a unit cross-section area, actualizes excellent frictional contact with a sheave while keeping necessary fatigability even in reduction in a sheave diameter in application to an elevator, or the like, saves the space of a system and reduces a cost.
SOLUTION: This wire rope comprises a wire rope using a high-strength steel wire, is equipped with one coated core schenkel 7 having a polymer compound coating 9 on the outer periphery, a plurality of side schenkels 8 arranged around the coated core schenkel 7, a plurality of first filler strands 11 of small diameters packed in spaces enclosed by the coated core schenkel 7 having the outer peripheries coated with the polymer compound and the side schenkels 8, a plurality of second filler strands 12 of small diameters which have the outer peripheries coated with the polymer compound and packed in the valleys at the outer diameter sides between the side schenkels 8, and an outer coating 10 of the polymer compound enclosing the side schenkels 8.
