To enable easy visual confirmation of defects in a woven cloth by an operator and response to defects in an early stage by providing a simple inspecting device comprising a light source, a reflector and a diffusion plate between a feed part for the woven cloth and a winding roller in a loom.

This woven cloth inspecting device in a loom comprises the inspecting device 9, composed of a light source 10, a reflector and a diffusion plate and provided between a woven cloth feeding part 7 and a winding roller 8. The woven cloth 1 is irradiated with light capable of freely regulating the irradiation angle in the direction of the rear face thereof to the surface from the inspecting device 9 in the process for feeding the woven cloth 1 woven on the loom to the winding roller 8 by press rollers 5 and a friction roller 6 constituting the woven cloth feeding part 7 so as to enable the easy visual confirmation of defects in the woven cloth by an operator of the loom.
