To provide a woven fabric which can independently express designs such as letters or patterns on the front and back sides of the woven fabric, can solve conventional defects such as a defect that the right and left portions of a design on the front side of the fabric are opposite to those of the design on the back side and a defect that the colors of the pattern and the plain portion of the front side are reversed on the back side, can enhance the added value of a commodity and can sufficiently exhibit the commodity-appealing power of a commodity such as a towel of gift commodity.

This woven fabric is prepared by interweaving a sub-fabric 3 in a part of a main fabric 2 and independently weaving designs 5,6 in the main fabric 2 and the sub-fabric 3, respectively.
