PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asbestos treatment method which can achieve both miniaturization and improvement of treatment efficiency and can also achieve on-site detoxification of asbestos.SOLUTION: An asbestos treatment method includes: a process for preparing a plurality of press formed bodies (C) which comprise asbestos-containing material by dividing the asbestos-containing material and performing pressing processing by a prescribed amount; and a process for detoxifying asbestos contained in each press formed body by using a cylindrical body (54) made of conductive body and an induction heating coil (55). In the process of detoxifying asbestos, an operation of inserting the press formed bodies into a heating space, an operation of detoxifying asbestos contained the press formed bodies by inductively heating the cylindrical body by conducting an inductive heating coil and by firing the press formed bodies with radiation heat from the induction heating, and an operation of taking out the press formed bodies after the firing from the interior of the heating space, are successively repeated with respect to each of the plurality of press formed bodies.
