Abstract:
To provide a display device including a luminaire that can be driven in an area division manner, allowing a light-blocked area of a surface of the display device to be detected by an optical sensor and reducing the brightness of a light source element of the luminaire in accordance with the light-blocked area.SOLUTION: A display device DSP comprises: a luminaire ILD including a plurality of light source elements LS which are independently controlled; a display panel PNL including a display area DA for displaying an image IMG; a control unit CTL dividing the image IMG into a plurality of blocks PG; an optical sensor OR detecting, when an object OBJ comes into contact with the display area DA, reflectance reflected by the object OBJ to the block PG of the display area DA light-blocked by the object OBJ. When the optical sensor OR detects the reflectance, the control unit CTL performs control to reduce the brightness of the light source element LS corresponding to the light-blocked block PG.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
