Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor for an exhaust gas, which can always ensure accurate operation, and an outboard motor engine in which the sensor for the exhaust gas is installed.SOLUTION: A cylindrical protector 13 whose base end side part is attached to a casing 11 and which covers an oxygen concentration detection element 12 includes: a cylinder part 22 for storing a detection part 12A of the oxygen concentration detection element 12 in a bottomed hollow formed by closing its end part; and an extension part 23 which is provided in a manner to extend from a bottom part of the cylinder part 22 to a tip part and in which a plurality of communication paths 24 are formed. The plurality of communication paths 24 communicate with the inside of the cylinder part 22 and have exhaust-gas introduction ports 24a opening radially outward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
