Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that since an omnidirectional camera captures a remote subject smaller as the visual field widens, resolution of the subject captured small on the periphery of an imaging element is reduced, and since the prior art simply increases the overall resolution of a circular image data, resolution only of the peripheral part of the circular image data having insufficient resolution cannot be increased.SOLUTION: An imaging device having imaging means for capturing an imaging object with a wide visual angle is further provided with displacement means for displacing the position of the imaging means in the roll rotation direction, means for calculating the maximum number of roll rotations per a predetermined unit time, and synthesis means for synthesizing a plurality of images generated the imaging means in a state where the imaging means is displaced to different positions by the displacement means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
