Title:
SULFUR DIOXIDE GAS SENSOR AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3217659
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a sulfur dioxide gas sensor the response time of which to the concentration variation, etc., of a sulfur dioxide gas is shortened can be manufactured.
SOLUTION: In case of manufacturing a sulfur dioxide gas sensor provided with a substrate 10 which carries a platinum electrode 14 on one surface and is composed of yttria-stabilized zirconia and an auxiliary electrode 12 which contains a silver-containing electrode 16 at, at least, part of the surface and is composed of a sulfate containing silver sulfate, platinum 18 is stuck to the joint surface of the substrate 10 by thermally decomposing hexachloroplatinum after a hexachloroplatinum solution is applied to the joint surface of the substrate 10 with the auxiliary electrode 12. Then, the auxiliary electrode 12 is formed by baking the sulfate containing a prescribed amount of silver sulfate placed on the joint surface of the substrate 10 carrying the stuck platinum 18.
