Abstract:
To provide a contra-rotating propeller having a simpler structure than a conventional one with excellent reliability.SOLUTION: A contra-rotating propeller 3 for a vessel is provided on a stern of a vessel 1 to be capable of rotating around an axis facing a length direction of the vessel, and includes: a main propeller 7 to which propulsion force of a main engine 6 is transmitted; and a sub propeller 9 arranged on a coaxial line to the rear in a long direction of the vessel of the main propeller 7 and rotating in a reverse direction of the main propeller 7. The sub propeller 9 include: a sub propeller boss 51 driven by an electric motor 17 in a steering valve 37 of a movable rudder 35 arranged to the rear in the long direction of the vessel of the main propeller 7 in a shape composing a front end in the long direction of the vessel of the steering valve 37; and a sub propeller wing 53 projecting in a radial direction of the sub propeller boss 51 and having a diameter which is 50% or more and 70% or less of the diameter of a propeller wing of the main propeller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
