PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine which satisfactorily generates torque in a wide rotation range while suppressing an increase in the scale and cost, and a vehicle including the same.SOLUTION: A motor (rotary electric machine) 10 comprises: a rotor 30 which includes a rotor body 32; a stator 20 which includes a plurality of coils 25 arranged in a circumferential direction; and a PCM (controller) 16 which forms a magnetic field by supplying the coils 25 with three-phase AC current. The rotor body 32 comprises: a plurality of magnetic parts 36 arranged in the circumferential direction; and a plurality of magnet parts 37 which are arranged between adjacent magnetic parts 36 and can be displaced between a forward position and a backward position. The PCM 16 is configured so as to switch power supply states to the coils 25 among a first power supply state that causes the stator 20 to generate rotating force, a second power supply state that causes repulsive force in an axial direction to be generated between the magnet part 37 and the coil 25, and a third power supply state that causes attraction force in the axial direction to be generated between the magnet part 37 and the coil 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
