Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weft yarn holding device in which the holding force of a weft yarn can be easily adjusted to an appropriate level according to the type of the weft yarn subjected to weft insertion.SOLUTION: A weft yarn holding device 1 for a water jet loom is provided between weft insertion nozzles 21a to 21d and a yarn feed cutter 22 in the water jet loom, and includes: slit parts 4a to 4d which are formed by the facing surfaces of pairs of plate-like members 2a to 2f arranged vertically apart from each other so as to face each other; and introduction parts 5a to 5d which are formed by widening spaces between the facing surfaces in the pairs of plate-like members, and which are continuous with the slit parts and arranged further on a non-cloth-fell side than the slit parts. Weft yarns 8 stretched from the weft insertion nozzles are introduced into the slit parts through the introduction parts, and the weft yarns are held by water film layers 6a to 6d formed in the slit parts. The weft yarn holding device further includes a position adjustment mechanism which supports the plate-like members forming the slit parts and the introduction parts in a position-adjustable manner.
