Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to obtain, by more simple joining work, a structure for totally covering a folded airbag with a sheet-like member. An airbag device is mounted in an airbag mounting panel (such as an instrument panel) having a lid which can be split and opened. The airbag device is provided with: an inflator; an airbag folded so as to be capable of being disposed on the inner side of the lid and capable of being inflated and expanded into a bag-like shape by gas introduced from the inflator; and an outer bag for covering the folded airbag. The outer bag is formed from a sheet-like member having an inflator mounting hole formed therein. The sheet-like member is formed into a tube-like shape in such a manner that both ends of the sheet-like member overlap each other, and the tubular sheet-like member is formed into a bag-like shape by joining both sides of the sheet-like member together so as to close the openings at both ends of the tubular sheet-like member.
