Abstract:

The invention relates to a compound having formula (I), the hydroxyacid form thereof, the pharmaceutically acceptable salts of the hydroxyacid and prodrugs and pharmaceutically acceptable solvates of the compound and the hydroxyacid form thereof and, in particular, the compound and the hydroxyacid form and salts thereof, etc. for use in the prevention of: neurodegenerative diseases, cognitive deterioration, diseases associated with unwanted oxidation, pathological processes associated with age and progeria, epilepsy, epileptic seizures and convulsions, cardiovascular diseases, such as atherosclerosis, auricular fibrillation, dyslipemia, hypercholesterolaemia, hyperlipidaemia and hypertriglyceridemia or fungal or viral infections.
